TEMPODACQUA FILM
TEMPODACQUA.
L’acqua dimensione del tempo.
A Film by Alfonso Femia/InsidethewhaleAF517 & Diorama
Biennale di Pisa. III Edizione
©Alfonso Femia & Diorama 2019
Occorre farlo ritornando a osservare, ascoltare, a guardare l’invisibile.
It is not easy to speak of climate change without stepping into stereotypes. The “Tempodacqua” video brings together collective fears and represents the dominant theme of the Biennale “Cast thy bread upon the waters: for thou shalt find it after many days.”
The phrase is taken from the Ecclesiastes and it expresses the importance of giving and receiving.
The video speaks of the “cycles of existence”, the times in which water gave and took, without emphasizing the terms of positivity or negativity, but stating “we are at this point, let us all admit it and start using our creativity”.
The narrative strategy focuses on the idea of time that repeats itself, emphasizing the important moments, the thresholds between different times.
“It is necessary to introduce a slow time alongside the fast time that everyday life imposes on us. It is necessary to do this by returning to observe, listen, to look at the invisible. It’s reality. It’s magic. We stop in front of the invisible and begin to feel the force of gravity of time, all its depth and stratification, the fact that it is a time between times.”
